Brandy Norwood and her boyfriend Ryan Press officially called off their engagement on Tuesday (April 15, 2014). The 35-year-old singer and the music executive decided to put the whole marriage thing on hold after moving in together. This would have been the first marriage for Ms Norwood, who has a 11-year-old daughter, Sy'rai, with her ex-boyfriend Robert Smith.
"They are no longer together. The engagement is off, but the friendship is still on. They decided to take a step back and reevaluate the relationship. Brandy is 35 now - that's what her whole #35 on Twitter is about, becoming her own woman,” the spokesperson for the former “Moesha” actress said. "They haven't ended things on a bad note and they still speak all the time."
Split rumours first surfaced in February, when Brandy Norwood arrived at the 45th NAACP Non-Televised Awards ceremony sans her engagement ring. The “Boy is Mine” hitmaker also hinted at the breakup during a Tuesday appearance on VH1's "Morning Buzz Live" but she did not address it specifically. Before accepting Ryan Press’ proposal, she was once engaged to NBA star Quentin Richardson in 2004.
